Martin Georgiev conducted studio recordings of two parts of his Symphonic Triptych No. 1 with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra at Sofia, Bulgaria, on 23-28 June 2016. One part of the Triptych, Heavenly Reflections was recorded by this orchestra conducted by the composer in 2007, broadcast nationwide and subsequently chosen to represent the country at the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers in Paris, and broadcast internationally. The first part of the Triptych, Elpis, Pistis, Agape commissioned by the Varna Summer International Music Festival, was premiered within the festival at Georgiev’s native city in 2008 by the Sofia National Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Dian Tchobanov, and was now recorded for the first time, conducted by the composer. The last part of the Triptych, Rescue was completed in 2015 and based upon sketches which Georgiev developed within his SAM Embedded residency with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London. It is dedicated to the loving memory of his aunt Petia Pancheva Panayotova, a cardiologist reanimator who passed away in 2014. This is the world premiere recording of the new work.
